For clamping of a thin-walled mould casting we have chosen two modified MU7 clamping bars with hard jaws mutually angle-wise inclined. The resulting solution has proven well; during machining, no vibration occurs of any of the thin-walled parts, and the casting is not deformed through exceedingly high clamping forces. This is a clear evidence that with our MU7 clamping bars it is possible to successfully clamp even workpieces of complex shapes.
Based on the customer´s workpiece drawing documentation and requirements, our company has realized a palletization project for the VHN 13horizontal milling center. During the machining of one pallet the machine operator performs an accurate location and clamping of the workpiece on the second pallet. As soon as the semi-finished product (a weldment in this case) on the first pallet is machined, the pallets are exchanged, and the process is repeated. Thus the palletization system was "tailor-made" including integrated clamps and measuring units, which have a control function in aspect of the workpiece location as well as the weldment dimensional accuracy verification and the machining allowance positioning. The machine does not have to stop during the workpiece accurate location, and the production is markedly increased. The pallet exchange is very quick thank to guidance elements. The pallet is located on the machine with maximum accuracy. The clamping system is designed to be very rigid and to eliminate machining vibrations so that the whole of the machine capacity can be utilized. Moreover, the pallet is markedly larger that the machine table where the machining is done.
For the company Siemens Mohelnice we have realized a mechanical palletization for an INTOS VOC600 machine with two pallet containers. In this way it is possible to change the machine production by drawing the pallet simply out of the container and transporting the pallet to the machine on a palletization truck. Available are 14 pallets totally; various clamps can be located on them. The palletizaton truck can house 2 pallets, which can be mutually exchanged (one for clamping, the other for machining). The idle times of a VOC600 machine were reduced to minimum in this way.
